Ask The Experts:
Chris: Can I use my stock Hood?
John B.: You can use either your stock hood or the Saleen Fiberglass Hood.
Jason: Will I have to change my clutch?
John B.: You can use your stock clutch. We suggest eventually upgrading to
an aftermarket clutch, but a stock ford clutch will hold up. If you are
drag racing you will need an aftermarket clutch.
Jess: Is there anything else I need to do to my Motor to handle this
amount of power?
John B.: The ford mustang 4.6L can handle approx 550 flywheel Horsepower,
before you will need to upgrade to forged internals (pistons, crankshaft,
connnecting rods).
Steve: Can i make more than 500 Horsepower with the saleen supershaker kit?
John B.: We offer many upgrades above and beyond the 500HP level. We can
make as much as 650HP with our upgrade kits (and new engine internals).
James: Is the Saleen Shaker C.A.R.B. approved?
John B.: No. Saleen did not Pursue an approval for the system due to Ownership changes with Saleen Corp.
Richard: How does water effect the Saleen SuperShaker system?
John B.: The shaker air filter is protected by a skin called an Outerwear, that is resistant to water, but first the water needs to get past a deflector that is part of Saleens cast lid. It is designed to catch water and divert it down into 2 drain tubes that discharge the water along side the engine.
